Back Card Story of Fairytale and Star Ponies.
(ElGreco made them share it!)

Once upon a time, in the magical land of ponies, beautiful Little Princess and her little dragon lived in Castle Of The Sky.
The Castle Of The Sky had the rich color of pink roses, and its towers were deep blue, like the sky in springtime (Hint: Dream Castle was about to be produced, but never made it!).
When Little Princess celebrated her Nameday (note: Nameday is a Greek custom) her little dragon (who never made it into production either...) gave orders for all the gates of the Castle to open widely, for the bridge to lower to the ground and for the trumpets to announce the Celebration. The news would spread immediately to the corners of the Earth. And then, the Fairytale Ponies along with the Star Ponies put on their very best, combed their long manes nicely and, shining of beauty and grace, they arrived to the Castle of the Sky to honor pretty Little Princess.

Star Ponies adorned the celebration with their dazzling looks while incomparably graceful Fairytale Ponies added splendor to the event.
Goldilocks put sunbeams on her hair, stars adorned Starlight, and Pigassos went to the celebration with his marvelous blue mane floating while he flew over the clouds.
Melodia, the most caressing of all Star Ponies, having her pretty musical notes on, went to the event accompanied by fabulous Morning Star.
The faster of all Ponies, Lightning, always arrived first, contrary to First Rain of Autumn who was usually late.
Sunrise would bring her shining colors to bright up the celebration, whereas Fairy and Wind would keep everyone laughing, with their freshness, friendly and good mood.

I think it's a nice story, but it apparently sounds better in Greek, as there are a lot of cultural elements (expressions and notions) in it that are common to the people of Greece.

Back Card Story of Baby Ponies

"The night was falling over the forest and all the little ponies had gathered outside the Show Stable to celebrate Baby Pony's very first Birthday!  Colorful balloons were everywhere; inside the Show Stable and out in the grass, adding a cheerful touch to the birthday party.  The baby pony was crawling merrily in and out of the house, scampering away or tossing the balloons high in the sky with (his/ her) little snout.  Suddenly, he/she noticed his/her mom's best pony friend, along with his/her aunt and his/her own friends, the other baby ponies, whose little snouts appeared through the beautiful, colorful balloons!  The baby pony leaped up in excitement when the other baby ponies were put next to him/her to play.  Then they opened the gifts and Baby Pony was surprised to see a pretty playpen and a wonderful baby buggy, just like the one his/her cousin and his baby pony friend had!  His/her aunt gave him/her a very nice comb and two colored ribbons for him/her to tie in his/her silky mane and long tail.  Later, all the little ponies sat together to eat.  The baby ponies sat on the grass playing with the balloons, making happy little voices.  But, the time was passing and the babies had to sleep.  So, their mommies fed them with their bottles and put them to sleep in their baby buggies. Soon afterwards, the babies were sleeping, having the prettiest dreams!"

None of the babies were officially named, which is typical in Greece, as babies aren't named before christening.  According to a greek MLP community member, greek babies behave like
newborns, so being that young, they aren't named yet.  Useful tips:

1. "Baby" is a neutral word in Greece. So, the baby can be either a boy or a girl.
2.  There are actually pony families, consisting of mommies, aunts (i.e. sister ponies), cousins and, of course, friends!
3.  Baby ponies came MIB with their playpen (much larger than the US version), cradle, blanket, pillow, bottle (it's tipped with white paint to make "milk" on the tip!), BABY necklace, ribbon, diaper, and brush!  However, El Greco also sold them randomly with the Baby carriage.  Though it pictured the US baby cuddles on it's exterior, there was no way of knowing which baby would actually be inside!

Though the baby ponies weren't officially named by El Greco, we can identify them by the names of their US counterparts:

 • Baby Blossom
 • Baby Bluebelle (two versions)
 • Baby Bowtie
 • Baby Butterscotch
 • Baby Cotton Candy
 • Baby Cuddles (three versions)
 • Baby Firefly
 • Baby Glory
 • Baby Lemon Drop
 • Baby Medley (two versions)
 • Baby Minty (two versions)
 • Baby Moondancer
 • Baby Peachy

Translated: "Baby Pony - a happy event from your favorite little pony!  Now each one of your little ponies has brought into the world her own baby pony.  Eight wonderful baby ponies and a very cute buggy so you can take them out for a walk.  Collect them all!"

Easter Ponies
The Easter (Candle and Ladybug) ponies weren't named either. But, if you would like to call them something, here is a suggestion:
1. LadyBird/ LadyBug = Paschalitsa ("h" as in "hello"not exact translation, but "Easter girl" fits)
2. Birthday (as she is widely, but wrongly labeled)/ Candle pony = Lambaditsa ("d" as in "th- in the"). "Lambada" is a special Easter candle (not a birthday candle!) that
is held on Holy Saturday night, during Easter (Greek-Orthodox customs). So, Lambaditsa is the "Lambada Girl".
3.  Both ponies were packaged and sold in giant red Easter eggs, as pictured in the gallery

Paschalitsa                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Lambaditsa
Boy Ponies?!

Want to know which ponies were Boys in Greece?

1. Glory
2. Firefly
3. Moonstone
4. Windy

As Parasol is concerned, things get a bit complicated.  You see, all Greek nouns have genders, like Spanish or French words.  However, there are also neutral words, i.e. neither masculine nor feminine.
Although the greek tend to consider neutral words masculine, and Protovrohi is neutral, it's really up to each owner.

Identifying your Greek Pony

There are a few characteristics common to Greek ponies:
1.  Soft Bodies - El Greco ponies are made from a softer, more squishy plastic than their HK/US counterparts.
2.  Eyes - Greek ponies have much thicker black rings encircling the iris of the eye.  Incidentally, they are the only country to have brown eyed ponies!
3.  Hooves - El Greco didn't stamp their ponies hooves with a country, pat. pending, year, or brand!  In fact, the only markings seen on Greek pony hooves are a single Greek letter, presumably used to denote pose-mold:  These poses are marked with the following Greek Letters:

Shy Pose Earth - Α (alpha)

Proud Pose Unicorn - Β (beta)

Walking Pose Unicorn - Γ (gamma)

Pegasus - Δ (delta)

These are only found on the Star or fairytale ponies.
Some ponies also have a faint remnant of the Hasbro marking on their hooves, leftover from the molds they were created in.
4.  Scent - Greek ponies have a sweet, vanilla-y plastic scent, particularly the fairytale and star ponies.  The collector's pose ponies, babies, and sitting ponies have that same scent, but with a bit of a baby powdery note to them as well.
5.  Neck Glue - El Greco didn't seal their ponies' heads with glue, unlike their US/HK counterparts.
6.  Forelock - The 8 Earth ponies have a forelock, like their US/HK counterparts, as do the sitting ponies.  However, the babies, Star, and Fairytale ponies do not.

Though El Greco ponies are generally in great condition (they are not prone to the molds/cancers from which HK/US ponies often suffer) there are a few flaws you might find on your greek pony.  The most notable of these is bleeding symbols.
Generally speaking, red is one of the thinnest color additives for paint.  Any symbol with a hint of red in it (pink, orange, purple, etc) on the collector's pose, sitting, or baby ponies has a tendency to bleed into the plastic.  Ladybird's red ladybugs are usually intact, as they are atop a layer of white paint, protecting them from seeping into the plastic.  It seems as though El Greco remedied the problem with the creation of metallic symbols for the Star and Fairytale ponies, as they generally don't have any bleeding problems.

Playsets
El Greco produced the Pretty Parlor, the Baby Carriage, the Carrying Case, and the Show Stable.  Dream Castle was in the works, but never made it to production.  ~ the Pretty Parlor     The Show Stable ~

Rumors, Myths, & Legends

*Rumor:  According to a former El Greco distributor, El Greco was making and exporting ponies outside of what they produced under Hasbro license.  As Hasbro began to catch on, El Greco burned their factory to the ground, rather than be discovered, and settled for the insurance money.  The other factory closed soon after.  This exportation of ponies to other countries, particularly Scandinavian countries, coincides with the fact that they are more prevalently found there.  The distributor estimated 2000 earth ponies and 6000 star and fairytale ponies a month were produced outside of Hasbro's knowledge.  That's 96,000 bootleg ponies a year!!!

*Myth:  Baby Adara ~ This is a nickname given to a specific version of baby cuddles (the white one) by a member of the community.  As we already know, the Greek babies weren't named by El Greco.  Adara translated from Greek is "mist", "fog", or "commotion".  Being that she has a rattle for her symbol, though she is a pegasus, she is considered a variant of baby cuddles.  Nonetheless, a baby this adorable does cause quite a commotion!

*Legend:  There is one more pony to add to your list, Novia collectors!  Novia Firefly has been discovered in an ebay picture.  The box reads that she is indeed a Novia pony, and the pony within is a blue Firefly with magenta and blue hair!
